Marches by anti-tourist activists have been taking place across Spain throughout the summer as locals accuse 'low quality' visitors of flocking to the country. Campaigners in Majorca have blamed visitor numbers for problems such as the rising cost of living and a lack of housing for locals. Photos from today show demonstrators holding banners and placards adorned with slogans such as 'tourists go home' and 'let's occupy our beaches'. The group of around 100 activists addressed the protest towards beachgoers sunbathing on the sandy stretch during the march.

A heartbreaking new video of one of the victims of the Southport stabbings has been shared by her family, showing the keen dancer filming herself while putting on make-up. In the video Alice da Silva Aguiar, 9, who was murdered at a Taylor Swift themed dance class two weeks ago, films herself to show-off the bright pink eye-shadow she is wearing. While other images show the young girl dressed in a pink tutu before ballet class, toothlessly smiling at the camera. She was dedicated to dance, her parents said in a tribute given at her funeral service at St Patrick's Catholic Church, in Southport today.

The luxury boat first got into trouble at around 10am local time on Saturday when other nearby ships noticed the yacht, which was moored off the coast of Camp de Mar on the south west of the Balearic Island, had partially sunk. An emergency alert was issued shortly afterwards and the Spanish coast guard scrambled on its boats to head to the scene - with local police following behind. Luckily, before emergency services could get there, a private boat was able to pick up the yacht's five passengers- which included a German couple and their son. Euro Weekly News reports that the passengers were then sent to back to Port Adriano near Magaluf.

It is no secret that women face an insurmountable pressure to look a certain way and certain way and maintain a constant 'model' figure.  However, this week Kate Winslet stood in the face of adversity after admitting she 'refused to cover up her belly rolls' during filming for her latest film Lee.  The Oscar-winning actress, 48, revealed a member of the crew suggested she sit up straighter to hide her rolls, to which the star hit back: 'So you can't see my belly rolls? Not on your life! It was deliberate, you know?' 

Paris is gearing up for the Olympics closing ceremony, as a star-studded show will finally bring an end to the two week sporting spectacle. Hollywood action man Tom Cruise is expected to bring a dramatic finale to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which has been hailed a roaring success despite a rain-drench and chaotic start. The Mission Impossible star is set to abseil into the Stade de France stadium to pick up the five-ring Olympic flag and transfer it to Los Angeles , the host of the 2028 Games. The switch across the Atlantic will feature live performances by pop superstar Billie Eilish , LA rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg .

China, who were the last team apart from the U.S. to top the standings when they did it on home soil at the 2008 Beijing Games, also won 40 golds but managed only 27 silvers. The U.S. women's basketball team secured their country's pre-eminence by edging host nation France in a breathless finish to win the final gold of the Games. The U.S. also won most total medals with 126 to China's 91.

But, she said, they would do it again in order to build a new life in Britain. The family, who are Kuwaiti Bidoon, a stateless Arab minority, fled the Gulf state in 2018. Princess Alexia of the Netherlands is set to move to London to study at UCL from this September. The second daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima turned 19 last month and is coming to the end of her gap year.  The decision to return to the UK is a last-minute one for the princess, who admitted in June she'd applied for several courses and didn't know what she wanted to study. The princess is pictured inset with her parents, and sisters Princess Ariane and Princess Amalia.

Banksy has confirmed he is behind a new swimming fish artwork which has appeared on a police sentry box in the City of London. It marks the seventh animal-themed piece the elusive street artist has claimed this week after he posted a photo of the artworks to his Instagram at 1pm. The artist appears to have used translucent spray paint on the glass windows to create the design, turning the sentry box into what looks like a giant fish tank. The artwork differs from Banksy's previous dark silhouette images of a goat, elephants, monkeys, a wolf, pelicans and a cat which have popped up in various locations across London since Monday. Two City of London police officers arrived today to examine the new design before taking pictures from the outside of the police box.

The raver partied the night away until 5am on the Friday, before needing to make his way back home. The road was resurfaced for the first time in almost 30 years this March, but the bare 30ft by 10ft patch around the truck had to be left untouched. Much to the anger of local residents at Marina Gardens in Weymouth, Dorset. Although it has not been removed for three years, the classic Ford truck is taxed so it it is not legally abandoned - despite becoming a makeshift dog poo bin which neighbours are forced to remove. Now, Dorset Council says it has 'started a legal process' to have the vehicle removed however this will takes time and taxpayers' money.
